Little Rock, Arkansas – Families in Central Arkansas are getting a new summer opportunity that blends outdoor fun, learning, and community—all at no cost. The The Salvation Army in Central Arkansas has announced a free summer camp for children, giving parents a chance to keep kids active and engaged during the break without worrying about expenses.

The program, based in Central Arkansas and centered around Little Rock, is open to children between the ages of 7 and 12. Organizers say the goal is to create a space where kids can step away from screens, spend time outdoors, and experience something meaningful during their summer months.

The camp is structured as a week-long experience, designed to offer a mix of activities that encourage both personal development and connection with others. Children will take part in outdoor adventures, group activities, and team-based challenges that help them build friendships in a natural and relaxed environment.

Beyond recreation, the camp also includes opportunities for personal and spiritual growth, which is a core part of the organization’s mission. The idea is to provide a supportive setting where children can learn, explore, and grow in confidence while also developing a sense of community.

However, space for the program is limited, and interest is expected to be high. Because of that, parents are being encouraged to act early if they want their children to participate. Registration is not handled through a simple online sign-up alone. Instead, families must attend a parent meeting, where spots for the camp will be secured.

To reserve a place at the meeting, parents are asked to call (501) 374-9296. Organizers emphasize that this step is important, as it helps manage attendance and ensures that each child has a confirmed opportunity to attend the camp.

While full details can also be found through the organization’s official channels, the message from coordinators is simple: the camp is intended to be accessible, welcoming, and free for families who might otherwise struggle to find affordable summer programs.

For many parents in Central Arkansas, the announcement comes as a relief during a season when childcare and activity costs can quickly add up. Free programs like this often fill an important gap, especially for working families looking for safe and structured environments for their children.

As summer approaches, attention will now turn to registration and planning. If demand is strong, the camp is expected to reach capacity quickly, making early sign-ups essential. For now, the opportunity stands as a straightforward offer—one week of activities, learning, and connection for children, with no cost attached, right in the heart of Central Arkansas.
