Conway prepares to welcome residents for the official grand opening celebration of its new community center on July 17

Conway, Arkansas – A major milestone for the city of Conway is just around the corner, as residents are invited to the grand opening of the new Conway Community Center on Thursday, July 17. The celebration will take place from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at 250 Central Landing Blvd, and it promises to be a memorable evening that showcases one of the city’s most ambitious projects in recent years.

Approved by voters in a February 2022 special election, the community center represents a major investment in the health, wellness, and recreational life of Conway’s residents. At 133,000 square feet, the facility is built to offer something for everyone—from competitive athletes to families looking for a place to relax and have fun.

The center includes an eight-lane competition pool designed to host swim meets and other aquatic events. In addition to this, visitors will find an inviting outdoor pool area that features a lazy river, a shallow tot pool for young children, and multiple water slides for thrill-seekers of all ages.

Indoor amenities are just as impressive. A large community fitness center offers space for residents to exercise and take part in wellness programs. For sports lovers, the facility boasts eight volleyball courts and 12 pickleball courts, providing plenty of space for both casual games and organized tournaments.

Social spaces are also an important part of the center’s layout. Community members will be able to gather in the lounge or reserve one of the party rooms for birthdays, celebrations, and special events. The center aims to be more than a recreational facility—it’s envisioned as a new hub for connection and community.

City officials say the Conway Community Center will not only bring new amenities to residents but will also boost the local economy by attracting visitors and hosting regional events.

The July 17 opening is expected to draw a large crowd, and everyone is welcome to attend and explore the new space. City leaders encourage families to stop by and see firsthand how the facility can enrich their daily lives.
