Pulaski County, Arkansas – Authorities in Pulaski County have confirmed an arrest in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred earlier this week in North Little Rock, as investigators continue to piece together the circumstances surrounding the case.

According to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), deputies responded on June 23 at approximately 8:40 p.m. to the 5900 block of McCain Place after receiving reports of a shooting in the area. When officers arrived, they found a juvenile male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Deputies immediately began life-saving measures at the scene in an effort to stabilize the victim before emergency medical personnel took over. Despite those efforts, the juvenile later succumbed to his injuries, officials confirmed.

Following the initial response, investigators with the PCSO Criminal Investigations Division launched a full homicide investigation. Detectives began collecting evidence, speaking with witnesses, and reviewing information from the scene in an effort to determine what led to the deadly incident.

As the investigation progressed, authorities identified another juvenile as a suspect in the shooting. That individual was taken into custody shortly afterward and has since been charged in connection with the homicide. Officials did not release additional details about the charges beyond confirming they are directly related to the death.

Due to the age of the suspect, the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office stated that no identifying information will be made public. Authorities emphasized that juvenile cases are subject to confidentiality protections, which limit what can be disclosed during ongoing legal proceedings.

Investigators have not released a possible motive or further details about the events leading up to the shooting. The case remains under active investigation as detectives continue to gather additional evidence and work through witness statements.

The sheriff’s office has not indicated whether additional arrests are expected, and officials have not commented on whether the suspect and victim knew each other prior to the incident.

Community members in the McCain Place area were left shaken following the shooting, as law enforcement maintained a presence in the neighborhood during the early stages of the investigation. Authorities are urging anyone with additional information related to the case to come forward and assist investigators.

PCSO officials reiterated that the investigation remains ongoing and that updates will be provided as new information becomes available and as the legal process continues to move forward.
