Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas – Preparations are underway for the 23rd Annual World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade, and organizers have officially opened entries for participants. The parade, a quirky yet beloved tradition in Hot Springs, draws thousands of spectators each year to witness a celebration unlike any other.
“Groups and individuals are welcome to join, and we’ll have special celebrity guests to be announced later,” said Steve Arrison, CEO of Visit Hot Springs. The event promises the same lively mix of entertainment and charm that has made it a must-see for locals and visitors alike.
According to a spokesperson, the parade routinely attracts over 30,000 fans, all eager to see the unique procession along Bridge Street, which measures just 98 feet in length. Recognized by Ripley’s Believe It or Not as the World’s Shortest Street in Everyday Use, Bridge Street provides a fun and intimate setting for floats, marching bands, and performance groups. Past events have included everything from Irish Elvis impersonators to the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, showcasing the parade’s playful and eclectic spirit.
Participants interested in joining the parade can register online or in person at the Visit Hot Springs offices in the Convention Center, according to Marketing Director Bill Solleder. Due to the street’s limited size, organizers can accept only 40 entries each year, making early registration critical for those hoping to be part of the festivities.
The World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade has become a unique draw for Hot Springs, combining community spirit, festive music, and playful performances in a setting that is both historic and entertaining. Visitors can expect colorful costumes, creative floats, and a sense of whimsy that has defined the event for more than two decades.
For more information or to secure a spot in the parade, interested parties are encouraged to contact Steve Arrison at 501-321-2027. With entries now open, organizers are eager to see who will bring the next wave of energy and creativity to Hot Springs’ famously short but lively St. Patrick’s Day celebration.
This year’s parade promises to continue the tradition of fun, community engagement, and unique entertainment, making it an event that locals and visitors alike mark on their calendars each spring.
