Arkansas man faces 60 criminal counts after police say they discovered alleged possession of child sexual abuse materials

Searcy, Arkansas – A Searcy man is facing dozens of felony charges after police say an investigation uncovered child sexual abuse materials in his possession.

Authorities confirmed that 37-year-old Quentin Andrew Whaley, a resident of Searcy, was taken into custody on August 29, 2025. According to the Searcy Police Department, the arrest followed an investigation that began after officers received a complaint against Whaley earlier this year.

Detectives said the complaint prompted them to open a formal investigation, which included securing and executing a search warrant at Whaley’s residence. During that search, investigators reported finding evidence that ultimately led to the filing of criminal charges.

Police stated that Whaley has been charged with 60 separate counts of possession of child sexual abuse materials. Each count represents a felony offense under Arkansas law. The severity of the case reflects not only the volume of material allegedly discovered but also the seriousness with which law enforcement treats crimes involving the exploitation of children.

Authorities did not disclose further details regarding the nature of the evidence collected, citing the fact that the investigation is still ongoing. The department has also not released information on whether additional arrests could be made or if other agencies are assisting in the case.

At this stage, officials emphasized that the charges remain allegations, and the judicial process will determine the outcome. Whaley’s bond status and next court date had not yet been publicly announced as of Tuesday.

Cases involving child exploitation are among the most closely monitored by local and federal authorities, with law enforcement often collaborating across jurisdictions to track down offenders and remove illegal materials from circulation.

“The investigation into the incident is still active. We will update this article as more information becomes available,” the Searcy Police Department said in its release.

The case has drawn attention across White County, where residents are waiting for further details about the allegations and the ongoing work of investigators.
