Wynne Mayor Jennifer Hobbs announces plans to seek a third term and continue guiding the city through recovery and growth

Wynne, Arkansas – Mayor Jennifer Hobbs has officially announced that she will seek a third term leading the city of Wynne, making her intentions known to residents on Wednesday. Hobbs, first elected in 2018, emphasized the close-knit nature of the community as she shared her decision.

“Wynne is more than a city; it’s a family,” Hobbs said in her announcement. Her words reflected a sense of unity and resilience that has defined her tenure, particularly through recent challenges faced by the town.

Hobbs’ leadership was tested in 2024 when a recall effort emerged, driven by critics concerned about her handling of the aftermath of the 2023 tornado that struck Wynne. Despite the controversy, she remained in office and continued guiding the city through its ongoing recovery efforts.

“We have endured challenges together, and we have overcome them together,” Hobbs said. “I am proud of how far we’ve come, and I believe our best days are ahead.” Her statement underscored both the progress the city has made and her commitment to leading it into the future.

The mayor outlined the focus of her upcoming campaign, highlighting priorities that resonate with residents who have lived through recent hardships. Hobbs said her agenda will center on continued recovery and growth, strengthening infrastructure, supporting families and local businesses, and maintaining Wynne as a safe and welcoming community for all.

City residents have noted the mayor’s hands-on approach and visibility during times of crisis, praising her efforts to rebuild and revitalize Wynne. Her leadership style, which emphasizes collaboration with citizens and local organizations, has been credited with fostering a sense of stability and optimism in the community.
