Conway, Arkansas – A pillar of Arkansas’s jewelry business, Sissy’s Log Cabin has announced a major leadership transition that heralds a fresh chapter in the company’s remarkable history. Following Lamar McCubbin, who left after more than a decade in charge, William Jones IV has been appointed the new president of this family-owned and run company.
Originally opened by Sissy Jones, the matriarch whose name the company boldly displays, Sissy’s Log Cabin has expanded from a small Pine Bluff business to become the biggest family-owned jewelry store in the mid-South. Comprising six stores—two in Little Rock and one each in Conway, Jonesboro, and Memphis—the company has established over the past 50 years a reputation for quality and customer service.
Representing the third generation of the Jones family to run the business, William Jones IV is the son of CEO Bill Jones. William was the Chief Operating Officer before he became president, and he was instrumental in combining contemporary corporate ideas with the historic values that have defined Sissy’s Log Cabin.
In a statement released by the company, Bill Jones expressed his confidence in his son’s leadership capabilities.
“William has been a cornerstone of our business for many years,” said Bill Jones in a press release. “His ability to balance innovation with our company’s traditions will undoubtedly build on our accomplishments over the past 50 years. This is an exciting time for both our family and the company, and I am proud to see him take on this new challenge and continue Sissy’s legacy.”

“The strong foundation built by my grandmother, Sissy, and my father, Bill, has always emphasized service, selection, quality and the unforgettable ‘Sissy’s experience’ our clients know and love. As part of the third generation of Jones family jewelry professionals, I look forward to continuing this legacy.”
Although previous president Lamar McCubbin will continue to be involved in the business as a consultant, he resigns to concentrate more on family time. Bill Jones praised McCubbin’s efforts, saying, “Lamar is a remarkable leader and will remain a close friend to Sissy’s Log Cabin,” Bill Jones said. “We wish him all the best as he takes time to be with his family, and we are deeply grateful for his contributions to the growth and success of our company.”
