Saline County, Arkansas – Drivers traveling on Interstate 30 (I-30) in Saline County should expect intermittent ramp closures due to striping work scheduled overnight. The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) is conducting pavement operations that will impact several exit ramps on the highway.
Starting at 9 p.m. on Monday, June 30, through 6 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1, crews will be working to improve the road’s markings. The striping work will cause alternating, temporary closures of exit ramps along both the eastbound and westbound lanes of I-30. The closures are planned to ensure safety while the work is carried out and will take place in stages.
Weather permitting, the project will begin on the westbound side of I-30, with each exit ramp being closed for approximately one hour. Once the westbound ramps are completed, work will shift to the eastbound ramps. The key to minimizing disruptions is the fact that no two ramps will be closed simultaneously, allowing for smoother traffic flow despite the temporary closures.
The affected ramps include:
• Exit 116 – Sevier Street / South Street
• Exit 114 – Highway 67 / Highway 229
• Exit 111 – Highway 70
Signage will be placed in advance of each closure to alert drivers, and motorists are encouraged to use alternate ramps during the closures to avoid delays. The work zone will be controlled with construction barrels, and signs will be displayed to guide drivers through the area safely. The public is urged to exercise caution and follow reduced speed limits, as the work zone may cause slower traffic speeds.

Along with the closures, travelers in the area should also be aware of potential noise impacts, particularly during nighttime hours when the striping work is taking place.
This striping operation is part of a larger ongoing project under ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program. The program is designed to widen I-30, improving the highway by adding an additional lane in each direction along a 5.5-mile stretch, from the interchange with U.S. Highway 70 (Exit 111) to Sevier Street in Benton (Exit 116). The project also includes improvements to the Highway 67 interchange (Exit 114). The $187.3 million initiative is expected to bring significant benefits to the region, including smoother traffic flow and improved safety for drivers.
