Little Rock, Arkansas – One woman was killed, and two men were injured following a crash on Interstate 430 in Little Rock on Friday, according to Arkansas State Police.
The crash involved a 2006 Honda Civic and a 2023 Honda Pilot. A crash summary report from state police said the Honda Civic was traveling southbound on I-430 while being pursued by Little Rock Police.
The vehicle was driven by 26-year-old Samuel Shelton of Little Rock. A 27-year-old woman, Jamia Trotter of Sherwood, was also inside the Civic.
According to the report, Shelton lost control of the Honda Civic while traveling on the interstate. The vehicle struck a guardrail before flipping.
After overturning, the Civic struck a second vehicle. That vehicle was a 2023 Honda Pilot driven by 53-year-old Rolando Hyche of Little Rock.
Trotter died as a result of the crash. Her body is being held by the Pulaski County Coroner, according to authorities.
Shelton and Hyche were both injured in the collision and were taken to a hospital for treatment. No further information about the severity of their injuries was provided in the crash summary.
The incident began with the pursuit involving the Honda Civic and Little Rock Police. The subsequent loss of control and collision caused the vehicle to leave its original path and strike the guardrail before hitting Hyche’s SUV.
The crash added another serious incident to Interstate 430, a major route through the Little Rock area. The circumstances surrounding the collision are being documented by Arkansas State Police.
