Little Rock police arrest 20-year-old man in connection with February shooting death at Labette Manor Apartments

Little Rock, Arkansas – A months-long investigation into a deadly shooting at Labette Manor Apartments has led to an arrest, according to the Little Rock Police Department.

Authorities said that 20-year-old Al Fitzpatrick, a resident of Little Rock, was taken into custody on Friday. He is now facing a charge of capital murder in connection with the killing of 33-year-old Eugene McDaniel earlier this year.

The incident occurred late in the evening on February 28. Officers responded to a report of gunfire at Labette Manor Apartments around 11:14 p.m. When they arrived, they found McDaniel inside a vehicle, already deceased. Police said he had been shot and died from the wounds before emergency responders could intervene.

At the time, few details were released, and investigators asked the public for help in identifying suspects or providing any useful information. Months later, after continued investigative efforts, authorities believe Fitzpatrick was involved in the fatal shooting.
