Little Rock, Arkansas – Two employees at Little Rock Central High School have been placed on paid administrative leave while the Little Rock School District investigates concerns involving the eligibility of some student athletes.
The investigation began after the district received a report alleging that certain requirements for student eligibility had not been met at the school. The district has not publicly identified the students involved or provided details about which eligibility rules may have been an issue.
School principal April Rike addressed the situation in a letter, saying district officials are now reviewing the concerns.
“District staff are looking into the situation in accordance with our established policies and procedures,” Rike said. “We are limited in what we can share because of student and employee privacy. However, we want to assure you that we take concerns such as this seriously and are committed to handling the matter thoughtfully and appropriately.”
The two employees will remain on paid administrative leave while the review is underway. The district has not indicated how long the investigation is expected to take.

Student athletic eligibility can involve a number of requirements, depending on the applicable school and district rules. However, officials have not said which specific requirements are at the center of the Little Rock Central investigation.
