Little Rock. Arkansas – The City of Little Rock is once again bringing municipal services directly into the community with its upcoming Mobile City Hall event on Monday, June 2. The family-friendly gathering will take place at Second Baptist Church’s Family Life Center, located at 1709 John Barrow Road, and will run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The Mobile City Hall initiative, spearheaded by Mayor Frank Scott, Jr., is designed to make city services more accessible and convenient for residents. Rather than asking people to travel downtown during regular business hours, the city is meeting them where they are — in their neighborhoods.
“Mobile City Hall is about strengthening the connection between our local government and the residents we serve,” said Mayor Scott. “By removing barriers and bringing services into the heart of our neighborhoods, we’re creating new pathways for participation, transparency, and trust.”
This outreach effort goes far beyond basic information. Residents will be able to take care of official city business right on the spot, with representatives from nearly every city department available to assist. From filing police reports to applying for building permits, the event provides a broad range of services in one accessible location.
For job seekers, the event is especially timely. The Human Resources Department will conduct on-the-spot “instant interviews” for a variety of open positions. At the last Mobile City Hall event, several residents were offered employment on the same day. It’s a rare opportunity for individuals to interact directly with hiring officials and secure a job without the typical waiting process.
In addition to city services, there will be engaging activities for all ages. Interactive games and demonstrations from the Parks and Recreation Department will be offered, alongside educational exhibits. Attendees will also be able to get up close with fire trucks, police vehicles, sanitation equipment, and even animals from the Little Rock Zoo.
Families can pick up free books through the “Reading in The Rock” program and recycle old electronics responsibly. There will be a food truck on site, and participants can enter raffles for a chance to win door prizes such as free family passes to the Little Rock Zoo, day passes to the Jim Dailey Fitness and Aquatic Center, and branded T-shirts.
Partner organizations including the Central Arkansas Library System (CALS), Little Rock Water Reclamation Authority, Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau (LRCVB), and Get Loud Arkansas will also have booths to offer additional resources and answer community questions.

One of the central components of the event is the community forum led by Mayor Scott. Beginning at 6 p.m., he and leaders from every city department will offer updates and field questions from attendees. This open dialogue is designed to give residents a voice and to help the city shape policies that reflect community needs.
Some of the specific services available at Mobile City Hall will include:
• Obtaining or filing police reports
• Paying business license fees
• Applying for city jobs with instant interviews
• Registering to vote
• Filing code enforcement complaints
• Learning about down payment assistance and neighborhood grants
• Submitting 311 requests
• Recycling electronic waste
City officials are encouraging all residents to attend, even if they’ve never interacted directly with their local government before. The format is intentionally informal and welcoming, designed to build relationships and answer questions without bureaucracy getting in the way.
“Our goal is to meet people where they are, in both a physical and community sense,” said one city staff member involved in planning the event. “Whether you want to learn about services, voice a concern, or just enjoy a fun evening with your neighbors, we’re here for it all.”
With its wide array of services, community resources, and friendly atmosphere, Mobile City Hall continues to prove itself as a vital connection point between the City of Little Rock and the people it serves. Residents are encouraged to bring their questions, their curiosity, and their families to this next installment in the growing outreach effort.
