Emmy Award-winning actor Richard Thomas will take the stage in September to bring Mark Twain’s words to life in a special performance of Mark Twain Tonight

Little Rock, Arkansas – Emmy Award-winning actor Richard Thomas, best known for his memorable performances in popular TV dramas like Ozark and Billions, is stepping into the shoes of an American literary icon this fall. Thomas is set to headline a revival of the one-man stage play Mark Twain Tonight!—a performance originally created and made famous by the late Hal Holbrook.

In a rare honor, Thomas has become the first and only actor officially authorized to perform Holbrook’s iconic portrayal of the legendary author and humorist, Mark Twain. The announcement came from Celebrity Attractions, the group behind the production, who confirmed the special engagement is scheduled to take place at the Robinson Center from September 12 through September 14.

The stage show, which features Twain’s most unforgettable quotes, biting satire, and sharp wit, offers audiences a unique chance to experience the author’s voice through the lens of a powerful live performance. Holbrook began performing Mark Twain Tonight! in the 1950s, and his portrayal earned him international acclaim, including a Tony Award and a special place in theatrical history. Now, decades later, Thomas carries that torch to a new generation of theatergoers.

Showtimes for the event include an evening performance at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, two shows on Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and a matinee at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Tickets are available for purchase at the Robinson Center Box Office, online at CelebrityAttractions.com and Ticketmaster.com, or by phone at 501-244-8800.

This production is expected to draw Twain enthusiasts, longtime fans of Holbrook’s original performance, and new audiences alike, all eager to see Thomas bring the legendary storyteller back to life.

In the words of Mark Twain himself, “The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated.” This fall, that sentiment rings truer than ever as Richard Thomas brings Twain’s unforgettable words—and spirit—roaring back to the stage.
