North Little Rock, Arkansas – North Little Rock is set to gain a major manufacturing operation and 1,200 new jobs as Eaton moves forward with plans for a new state-of-the-art facility in the city.
The intelligent power management company is investing $242 million in the project, which will create a 1 million-square-foot manufacturing facility. The expansion is expected to significantly increase Eaton’s ability to produce electrical enclosures in the United States as demand continues to grow across several industries.
The company said the investment is expected to double its U.S. manufacturing capacity for electrical enclosures. Those products are increasingly needed in data centers, utilities, industrial operations and digital communications.
The project also represents a substantial employment opportunity for the North Little Rock area. Eaton will be hiring workers for manufacturing, electrical and operations positions at the new facility, bringing a wide range of jobs to the community as the operation gets underway.
“Customers are looking for ways to deploy critical power infrastructure faster, with greater certainty and less complexity,” said Mike Yelton, president, Electrical Sector, Americas, Eaton. “This investment expands our ability to deliver custom modular electrical enclosures while strengthening our U.S. manufacturing capacity and skilled workforce. Building on the strong foundation we’ve established in Minden, Louisiana, this investment enables us to better support customers with the speed, scale, and expertise they need to meet growing demand.”
The company’s decision comes as demand for critical power infrastructure increases. Eaton’s expansion in North Little Rock is intended to give the company additional capacity while allowing it to respond more quickly to customers looking for electrical equipment and infrastructure.
The new facility will also add to Eaton’s existing manufacturing presence and workforce. The company pointed to its operation in Minden, Louisiana, as an important foundation for the latest investment and said the North Little Rock project will build on that experience.
Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders welcomed the announcement, pointing to the state’s growth and the need for reliable infrastructure to support it.
“As Arkansas grows, the need for critical and reliable infrastructure grows with it, and investments like this one play a crucial role in ensuring we can meet increasing demand,” said Governor Sanders. “Because of our low taxes, reduced permitting times, and strong workforce, it’s no surprise Eaton is choosing Arkansas as the home of one of its largest manufacturing facilities. The project is the result of cooperation among several organizations working to attract economic development and new investment to the region. The Arkansas Economic Development Commission, the City of North Little Rock and the Metro Little Rock Alliance, led by the Little Rock Regional Chamber, collaborated on the project.
For North Little Rock, the arrival of Eaton means more than a new building. The company’s plans bring the prospect of 1,200 new jobs tied to manufacturing, electrical work and operations, adding another major employer to the local economy.
The scale of the facility is also notable. At 1 million square feet, the plant will provide Eaton with substantial room to expand its U.S. production of electrical enclosures. The company expects the investment to help meet increased demand from industries that depend on reliable power systems and related infrastructure.
The timing comes as data centers, utility projects, industrial operations and digital communications continue to require large amounts of electrical infrastructure. Eaton’s investment is aimed at helping the company serve those markets while strengthening its domestic manufacturing capacity.
