Crews work around the clock to repair 12-inch water main burst near Asher and University intersection

Little Rock, Arkansas – Central Arkansas Water crews are actively working to repair a 12-inch AC main pipe that burst early this morning at the intersection of Asher and University, officials confirmed. The incident has temporarily disrupted water service for local residents, but the utility company said repairs are progressing and service is expected to return quickly.

According to Central Arkansas Water, the pipe failure has affected 28 customers in the immediate area. The company reassured those impacted that restoration of water service should take about four hours.

“Central Arkansas Water crews are working to repair a 12″ AC main pipe that burst earlier this morning at the intersection of Asher and University. Water service is expected to be restored to 28 affected customers within approximately 4 hours,” the company said.

Utility crews arrived promptly after the rupture was reported and have been working throughout the morning to contain the damage and restore water flow. Residents in the affected area were advised to expect temporary interruptions while repairs are underway.

While no injuries were reported, the incident serves as a reminder of the aging water infrastructure in parts of the city and the importance of timely maintenance. Local authorities are urging residents to remain patient and follow updates from Central Arkansas Water as crews continue their work.
