City of Rison announces temporary shutdown of water system for maintenance starting January 14

Rison, Arkansas – Rison residents will experience a temporary disruption in their water service as the City of Rison announced a planned shutdown of its water system beginning at 10 p.m. on January 14. City officials emphasized that the process will last for several hours and is part of routine maintenance and system improvements.

To minimize the impact on residents, the city scheduled the shutdown to begin at night, when water demand is typically lower. Officials noted that careful planning has gone into the timing to ensure that the majority of residents experience minimal inconvenience during the process.

“This scheduled shutdown is necessary to maintain the integrity and reliability of our water system,” city officials said. “By conducting this work at night, we hope to limit disruptions and ensure residents continue to have access to safe, clean water as quickly as possible.”

The water system work is expected to continue in phases and will be completed by the end of the week of January 23. Residents are advised to plan accordingly, particularly for activities that require a consistent water supply, such as cooking, cleaning, and personal hygiene.

City authorities are also encouraging residents to remain informed and follow any updates regarding the status of the water system during the shutdown period. While officials expect the temporary interruption to be brief, staying aware of changes will help residents manage their daily routines effectively.

“This process is part of our ongoing efforts to ensure the water system operates efficiently and meets the needs of our community,” the city added. “We appreciate the patience and cooperation of all residents as we complete this important work.”

With proper planning and communication, the City of Rison aims to complete the water system work smoothly while keeping residents informed and minimizing disruption to daily life.
