Brookland Public Schools appoints George Kennedy as new superintendent following an extensive search

Brookland, Arkansas – Brookland Public Schools is entering a new chapter as it announces the appointment of George Kennedy as the district’s next superintendent. The school district made the announcement on Saturday, June 7, marking an important milestone for the future of education in the area.

Kennedy, who currently serves as the assistant superintendent for Brookland Public Schools, has been chosen after a thorough search process. The district’s selection committee reviewed numerous applicants before making their decision. In a statement, the district expressed full confidence in Kennedy’s ability to lead the schools into the future. “After a thorough search and review of numerous applicants, we are unanimous in our decision that Mr. Kennedy is the best person to lead and move our district forward,” the statement read.

Kennedy’s appointment comes as a moment of transition for the district, following the announcement that Brett Bunch, the current superintendent, will be leaving to take a new position as the superintendent of Lonoke Public Schools. Kennedy is set to assume the role of superintendent on July 1, 2025, and will lead the district through the next phase of its growth and development.

As assistant superintendent, Kennedy has already demonstrated his leadership abilities and deep knowledge of the district’s operations. His experience and understanding of the needs of Brookland’s students, teachers, and community members make him a strong candidate for this position.
