Arkansas ranks as one of the most affordable states for couples planning a destination wedding in the United States

Little Rock, Arkansas – Arkansas is emerging as one of the most affordable states for couples planning a destination wedding, according to the latest data from the wedding planning site The Knot. The report places the state as the third least expensive location in the United States for destination weddings, with an average cost of $18,700, making it a standout option for couples seeking an elegant celebration without breaking the bank.

Idaho and Utah topped the list with slightly lower average destination wedding costs of $17,380. On the other end of the spectrum, New Jersey was ranked as the most expensive, with destination weddings averaging $54,400. The Knot’s study also compared domestic and international wedding expenses, revealing that international destination weddings typically cost around $41,000, while domestic destination weddings average $39,000—both well above the cost of a wedding in Arkansas.

For couples who prefer to stay closer to home, The Knot reported that a hometown wedding averages $32,000, while the overall national average wedding cost stands at $33,000. These figures highlight just how competitively priced Arkansas is in comparison, offering couples the chance to enjoy a memorable ceremony for a fraction of the cost typically seen elsewhere.

The state’s affordability extends beyond just the ceremony itself. Arkansas has also been ranked highly as a honeymoon destination, praised for its “quiet, unassuming romance.” With scenic locations, charming venues, and natural beauty ranging from rivers and lakes to rolling hills, couples can enjoy both their wedding day and post-ceremony celebrations without exceeding their budgets.

The findings suggest that Arkansas offers an appealing mix of cost-effectiveness and charm for couples planning their big day. Whether opting for a destination wedding in a picturesque town or a more intimate celebration at a local venue, the state provides options that cater to a wide range of preferences while keeping financial considerations in mind.

With affordability, scenic charm, and a variety of venues, Arkansas is steadily gaining recognition as a top choice for couples seeking a memorable wedding experience that doesn’t come with a hefty price tag.
