Emergency polling location change forces voters in Little Rock Precinct 89 to go to Cammack Village City Hall on Election Day

Little Rock, Arkansas – Voters in Little Rock’s Precinct 89 will need to head to a new location on Tuesday after an unexpected closure disrupted plans for the originally scheduled polling site. Officials with the Pulaski County Board of Election Commissioners confirmed that St. Paul United Methodist Church, located at 2223 Durwood Road, will not be available for voters.

In response, election authorities have directed all Precinct 89 voters to cast their ballots at Cammack Village City Hall, located at 2710 North McKinley Street. The move comes just days ahead of the election, prompting officials to urge residents to take note of the change to avoid confusion on Election Day.

“Polls will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. across the state,” election officials reminded residents, emphasizing the importance of allowing enough time to reach the new location and complete their voting.

For those uncertain about their voter registration status or who wish to review a sample ballot before heading to the polls, the Arkansas Voter View website, hosted by the Secretary of State, provides updated information and tools to ensure voters are fully prepared.

Precinct changes like this are rare but can occur when facilities experience unexpected issues. Officials encouraged voters to plan ahead and arrive early if possible to avoid long lines. Residents who rely on accessibility services or require assistance are advised to contact election staff in advance to ensure accommodations are available at the new site.

The Pulaski County Board of Election Commissioners stressed that the change does not affect voters’ eligibility or their right to cast a ballot. “We are committed to making sure every voter in Precinct 89 has a safe and convenient place to vote,” officials said.

This sudden adjustment highlights the importance of staying informed in the days leading up to an election. Local authorities continue to monitor the situation to provide any additional updates to voters as needed, ensuring that all residents have the opportunity to participate fully in the democratic process.
