Arkansas man wins $50,000 lottery prize while driving to wife’s birthday dinner

Little Rock, Arkansas – In a heartwarming twist of fate, an Arkansas man struck it big with a $50,000 lottery win on the very day he was celebrating his wife’s birthday. Timothy Augustyniak, a resident of Paragould, was on his way to dinner with his wife when he decided to stop for gas at Kum & Go #349, located at 3400 Linwood Drive. There, he purchased a $20 instant game ticket for $50,000 Frenzy, a game that would change his life.

Augustyniak had always dreamed of winning a substantial lottery prize, but on that particular day, his focus was not on the possibility of a big win. “I was thinking about dinner!” Timothy recalled with a laugh. “I’m always expecting to win the big one, but this time, I wasn’t even thinking about it.” His attention was on the celebration ahead rather than the ticket he was scratching.

But as he began to scratch off the ticket, something caught his eye. Timothy paused, stared at the ticket, and couldn’t believe what he saw — he had just won $50,000. Overcome with excitement, he rushed back to his car to share the incredible news with his wife. “I went to the car to show her, and then I went back inside to verify it,” he said. Once confirmed, Timothy was in disbelief. “This is the biggest prize of my life,” he exclaimed. “It happened!”

The couple couldn’t have been more thrilled with the unexpected windfall. Augustyniak, who had been playing the lottery regularly, now had the opportunity to turn his dream into reality. “I’m excited to take a family trip,” he said, outlining some of the plans for the prize money. In addition to the trip, he expressed his ongoing commitment to supporting education, noting that he would continue to play the lottery to help fund Arkansas scholarships for students.

Timothy claimed his prize on May 21 at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center, making it official. The win serves as a reminder of how life can surprise you when you least expect it, and it’s a moment Augustyniak and his wife will never forget.
