Little Rock, Arkansas – The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) is giving residents a new way to learn about the projects, people, and decisions shaping the state’s transportation system with the launch of its new podcast, “On The DOT: An ARDOT Podcast.”
ARDOT announced the new program on Thursday, July 30, introducing the podcast as a communication tool designed to bring the public closer to the work happening across Arkansas. The series will provide listeners with a behind-the-scenes look at how the department operates and how transportation decisions affect communities throughout the state.
The podcast is part of ARDOT’s continued effort to improve transparency and strengthen communication with the public. Through conversations with transportation professionals and other guests, the program aims to explain the work behind Arkansas’ roads, highways, and infrastructure in a way that is informative but easy to understand.
Each episode will feature discussions about current topics involving ARDOT and the transportation industry. Rather than focusing only on technical details, the podcast will highlight the people involved in transportation projects and explain how their work impacts everyday life for Arkansans.
“On The DOT: An ARDOT Podcast” is hosted and produced by ARDOT’s Communications Division. The series will include guests from both inside and outside the department, offering different perspectives on transportation issues, challenges, and developments across the state.
The first episode, titled “More Than Potholes: An Intro to ARDOT,” introduces listeners to the department’s responsibilities and provides an overview of the work ARDOT performs. The episode features ARDOT Director Jared Wiley, who joins the co-hosts for a short discussion designed to introduce the agency and its role in maintaining and improving Arkansas’ transportation network.
“This podcast provides yet another platform for ARDOT to educate and engage with the public,” Wiley said. “Reliable transportation is critical to all of us, every day. Our goal is to make these topics more understandable, relatable, and accessible to everyone.”
Officials said the podcast will provide another opportunity for residents to better understand the decisions behind transportation projects, from road maintenance and construction to larger infrastructure planning efforts.
New episodes of “On The DOT: An ARDOT Podcast” will be released regularly and will be available through several major platforms. Listeners will be able to access episodes on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube, as well as through ARDOT’s official website and social media channels.
By creating a podcast format, ARDOT hopes to reach a broader audience and make transportation discussions available to people whenever and wherever they choose to listen. The department said the series will continue to focus on sharing information, answering questions, and connecting residents with the work that keeps Arkansas moving.
Residents interested in following the podcast or learning more about future episodes can visit ARDOT’s website and social media pages for updates and additional information. The launch marks a new step in the department’s efforts to build stronger connections with communities across the state.
