Jonesboro, Arkansas – One person was injured Wednesday in a two-vehicle crash at Caraway Road and Highland Drive, according to Jonesboro E-911. The collision temporarily blocked southbound traffic on Caraway Road before the roadway reopened at 1 p.m.

Dispatch said the crash happened around 12:01 p.m. Emergency crews worked at the intersection to clear the scene, with the southbound lanes blocked during that response. The reported disruption lasted approximately an hour.

The intersection was partially blocked rather than entirely closed, according to the information provided by dispatch. The traffic restriction specifically affected the southbound lanes of Caraway Road.

The initial report identified one injured person but did not describe the severity of the injuries. It also did not say whether that person was a driver or passenger, or whether they were taken to a hospital.

Two vehicles were involved, but no descriptions of those vehicles were included in the available account. The circumstances leading to the collision were not detailed, and the report did not identify either driver.

The location placed the response at the intersection of two named Jonesboro roads, Caraway Road and Highland Drive. While crews cleared the crash scene, the lane blockage prevented normal southbound travel through the affected area.

The subsequent reopening update changed the status of the traffic alert. By 1 p.m., the road was open again, ending the closure reported shortly after noon. The account did not describe any continuing lane restrictions after that time.

Although traffic was restored, the reopening update did not include additional information about the injured person. Details about the cause of the crash likewise were not provided in the supplied report.

The crash, injury, and temporary lane blockage were reported by Jonesboro E-911. The latest roadway status in that report was the 1 p.m. reopening, rather than an ongoing closure.
