North Little Rock, Arkansas – The University of Arkansas-Pulaski Technical College is starting the fall semester with another increase in enrollment, continuing a growth trend that has been building at the college since 2023.
College officials reported a 6% increase in enrollment for the fall 2026 semester, bringing the number of students to 5,127. The figure is expected to rise again as additional students begin classes during the second eight-week term in October.
The latest numbers mark another step in the college’s steady enrollment growth over the past several years. UA-Pulaski Technical College officials said the institution has continued to see increases since fall 2023, with the final fall 2026 enrollment total expected to be higher than the current figure.
The college received 6,526 applications for the fall semester. Of those applicants, 4,392 completed the admissions process and were approved to register for classes. That represents about 67% of the total applicants.
Students are enrolling in a range of programs, with Liberal Arts and Sciences Associate of Science degree drawing the largest number of students for fall 2026. The Associate of Science in Business was the next most popular program, according to the college.
The makeup of the student population also reflects the different paths available at UA-Pulaski Tech. About one-third of the college’s students are working toward technical certificates and degrees designed to prepare them for jobs after completing their programs.
Those programs include areas such as nursing and advanced manufacturing, fields that can provide students with training for direct entry into the workforce.
The other two-thirds of students are enrolled in Associate of Arts or Associate of Science programs. These degrees are designed to cover the first two years of a bachelor’s degree before students transfer to a four-year institution.
Chancellor Summer DeProw said the college’s focus on programs connected to workforce needs, along with its affordability, is helping attract more students.
“With our careful alignment with the state’s high-demand workforce needs, the value of post-secondary education at UA – Pulaski Tech is undeniable,” said Chancellor Summer DeProw. “Whether our students aspire to a baccalaureate or choose to concentrate on shorter-term programs that facilitate direct entry into the workforce, both our quality and affordability are bringing more students in.”
Students counted in the college’s enrollment are taking classes through several different locations and learning options. UA-Pulaski Tech’s enrollment includes students at the Main Campus in North Little Rock, the Little Rock-South campus and the Aerospace Technology Center near the North Little Rock Airport.
The college also counts students taking part in online programs and high school students enrolled through concurrent-credit courses.
With another enrollment increase already reported and more students expected to join classes in October, UA-Pulaski Technical College is continuing a trend of growth that officials say has been developing since fall 2023.
