Johnson County, Florida – Drivers traveling through Clarksville should prepare for a series of overnight ramp closures on Interstate 40 during September as crews carry out repaving work.
The closures will affect ramps serving both eastbound and westbound Interstate 40. Work is scheduled to take place overnight, with ramps expected to close intermittently between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. on several dates throughout the month.
The first round of closures is planned at Exit 58. Crews are scheduled to work on the ramps on Tuesday night, September 8, Wednesday night, September 9, and Thursday night, September 10.
Drivers will then see closures at Exit 57 the following week. The work is scheduled for Monday night, September 14, through Thursday night, September 17. Each night, the closures are expected to take place between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m.

The final group of scheduled closures will take place at Exit 55. Those closures are planned for Monday night, September 21, Tuesday night, September 22, Wednesday night, September 23, and Thursday night, September 24.
Weather conditions could affect the planned work. Weather permitting, the temporary closures will give crews the opportunity to repave the ramps and complete the work safely.
Motorists who normally use one of the affected exit ramps should plan ahead and be ready to take another route. Drivers needing access to a closed ramp are advised to use the nearest available exit before or after the closure.
The work zone will be marked with digital message boards, cones and signs. These warnings will alert drivers to the temporary changes and help guide traffic through the affected areas.
Because the closures are scheduled overnight, drivers may still encounter work crews, equipment and changing traffic conditions while traveling through the area. Motorists are encouraged to pay attention to the posted signs and adjust their routes when necessary.
