Jonesboro, Arkansas – The Osceola Aquatics Center has opened a new indoor pool facility, giving swimmers in the community a new option for recreation, exercise, and aquatic activities throughout the entire year.
The new indoor pool officially opened Monday and represents the latest improvement at the Jonesboro-area facility. The project expands the center’s offerings beyond the seasonal outdoor pool and provides residents with a place to swim regardless of weather conditions.
The indoor facility is divided into two main areas designed to serve different groups of swimmers. Half of the space features a 25-meter lap pool for those interested in swimming for fitness, training, or competition. The other half is dedicated to children and families, with a kids’ zone that includes a slide shaped like the center’s turtle mascot, “Splash.”
Officials said the new features were designed to make the facility more welcoming for both serious swimmers and younger visitors who are learning to enjoy the water.

Osceola Aquatics Center Director Michael Ephlin said crews completed the project in less than two years, allowing the community to begin using the new indoor space sooner than expected. Unlike the outdoor pool, which is available only during warmer months, the indoor pool is built for year-round use.
The new facility has already attracted strong interest from the public. Ephlin said the indoor pool is currently bringing in approximately 200 to 400 swimmers each day, showing the demand for expanded aquatic opportunities in the area.
The addition of the indoor pool also changes how the center can serve residents throughout the year. While the outdoor pool will continue operating for about four months during the summer season, the indoor facility will remain open year-round, providing consistent access for swimmers, families, and community programs.
The project is expected to benefit a wide range of users, including people who swim for exercise, children participating in aquatic activities, and residents looking for an indoor recreational option during colder months.
