Conway, Arkansas – A 53-year-old Conway woman died Thursday morning after her vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree along Dave Ward Drive, according to the Conway Police Department.
The crash happened at approximately 11 a.m. on July 2 in the 2600 block of Dave Ward Drive, an area that sees steady traffic throughout the day as it connects several key parts of the city. Emergency responders were called to the scene shortly after the collision was reported.
Investigators identified the victim as Patricia Williams, 53, of Conway. Authorities said she was driving a 2021 Nissan Sentra westbound when, for reasons still under review, the vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a tree.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and police confirmed that no additional injuries were reported. The impact was isolated to a single vehicle, which came to rest off the roadway following the collision.
Officials also noted that weather conditions at the time were clear, and the roadway was dry, removing environmental factors that might typically contribute to loss-of-control crashes. Despite those conditions, the vehicle still left the roadway under circumstances that remain unclear.
The Conway Police Department has not released additional details regarding what may have led the vehicle to drift off the road. Investigators are continuing to examine evidence from the scene as part of the ongoing investigation.
