Little Rock, Arkansas – An Alexander city councilwoman has been arrested and charged in connection with a forgery investigation led by the Arkansas State Police, according to officials.
The Arkansas State Police (ASP) confirmed that Special Agents from its Criminal Investigation Division arrested Councilwoman Lou “Juanita” Wilson on July 1, 2026. The arrest followed an inquiry that was initiated after a request from Sixth Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Will Jones in February.
Authorities say the investigation centered on allegations involving the misuse of city financial systems and documents. During the course of the inquiry, investigators determined that Wilson allegedly forged city documents in order to obtain a credit card in her name, using City of Alexander bank accounts.
Wilson has since been formally charged with second-degree forgery. Following her arrest, she was booked into the Saline County Detention Center and later released. Officials did not immediately release additional details regarding court appearances or potential next steps in the case.

The Arkansas State Police stated that the investigation is still ongoing and that more information may be released as the case develops. At this stage, authorities have not indicated whether additional charges or individuals could be involved.
The case has drawn attention due to Wilson’s position as an elected official within the city of Alexander. However, investigators have not provided further commentary on her role beyond confirming the arrest and the charge.
Prosecutors originally requested the investigation earlier this year, prompting ASP Special Agents to begin reviewing financial records, documents, and related evidence tied to city accounts. That review ultimately led to the findings that supported the forgery charge.
While officials have not outlined a detailed timeline for the next court proceedings, the case is expected to move forward through the Sixth Judicial District. Authorities emphasized that the matter remains active and subject to further updates as investigators continue to gather information.
For now, state police are urging patience as the legal process continues. They have not released additional evidence or statements beyond the confirmation of arrest, the charge filed, and the ongoing status of the investigation.
As the case progresses, more details are expected to be made available through official channels.
