Little Rock fire crews rush to Hillcrest apartments to battle fierce blaze

Little Rock, Arkansas – Late Monday evening, fire crews rushed to the Hillcrest neighborhood to respond to a significant apartment fire that erupted at the Arbor Pointe Apartments on Kavanaugh. The call came in just before 9:00 p.m., prompting an immediate response from the Little Rock Fire Department.

Officials confirmed that one person is receiving medical treatment for injuries sustained during the incident. “The extent of the person’s injuries has not been released,” fire department representatives said, emphasizing that authorities are still assessing the situation.

Neighbors in the area reported seeing thick smoke billowing from the building as firefighters worked to contain the flames. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. “It has not yet been determined what started the fire,” officials added, urging residents to stay clear of the scene while emergency crews continue their work.

Firefighters were seen moving swiftly through the complex, employing hoses and ladders to control the blaze and prevent it from spreading to adjacent apartments. Residents were evacuated from the building as a precaution, though officials have not yet provided an update on the total number of people affected.

The Little Rock Fire Department praised the rapid response of its personnel, who arrived on the scene within minutes of the initial report. “Our crews are doing everything possible to manage the situation safely and effectively,” an official said, highlighting the department’s dedication to protecting the community.

As the night progresses, emergency responders remain on site, fully committed to extinguishing the flames and keeping residents safe. No additional injuries have been reported, but the department continues to assess the situation as it develops.
