Jonesboro City Council approves plans to partner with Brackett Kennerich for new 911 Center and Winter Wonderland renovation

Jonesboro, Arkansas – The City of Jonesboro is preparing to move forward on two significant projects after the City Council gave the green light to collaborate with a local architectural firm.

During a recent meeting, the council approved two resolutions to work with Brackett Kennerich & Associates, P.A., which will provide architectural services for both the 911 and Real Time Crime Center project and the renovation of Winter Wonderland, a longtime holiday favorite in the community.

The new 911 center will play a crucial role in enhancing emergency response and public safety in the city. It is part of a broader capital improvement initiative aimed at updating and expanding Jonesboro’s critical infrastructure. While full details of the design plans have not yet been released, officials say this move is the first major step toward bringing the vision to life.

Winter Wonderland, meanwhile, is a cherished Christmas attraction that has drawn families from around the region since the 1990s. Known for its festive lights and nostalgic holiday décor, the attraction will undergo renovations to update its look while maintaining its traditional charm.

City officials emphasized the importance of investing in both public safety and community traditions.

“Projects like these not only improve quality of life for residents but also help us build for the future,” one council member noted after the vote.

While there’s no timeline yet on when construction will begin, the partnership with Brackett Kennerich & Associates is expected to move things along quickly as the planning and design phases get underway.
