Arkansas State Police continue search for 4-year-old boy missing from Jasper since Friday afternoon

Jasper, Arkansas – A frantic search is underway in northern Arkansas as state police and local authorities continue efforts to locate a missing 4-year-old boy who vanished Friday afternoon in the small town of Jasper.

The child, Tyler Beau Smith, was last seen at approximately 1:15 p.m. near 107 S. Oak Street, a quiet residential area in the heart of town. He was reportedly with his mother at the time he disappeared.

Authorities describe Tyler as about 3 feet tall, weighing around 45 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. When he was last seen, Tyler was wearing a blue t-shirt, gray cargo pants, and a pair of Spiderman-themed Crocs — details police hope will help the public recognize him.

Local residents and emergency responders have been canvassing the area since the report of the disappearance. Volunteers have joined in the search, combing through wooded areas, yards, and nearby properties. Police have not yet released any details regarding the circumstances of his disappearance, but they are treating the case with urgency.

“This is a small town where everyone knows each other. When something like this happens, it hits close to home,” said one Jasper resident who joined the search effort.

Law enforcement officials are urging anyone who might have seen something or has relevant information to come forward. “We need the public’s help in locating Tyler,” said a spokesperson for the Arkansas State Police. “If you know anything, no matter how small it may seem, please contact us.”

As night falls and search efforts continue, the tight-knit Jasper community remains hopeful that little Tyler will be found safe and returned to his family. The disappearance has drawn concern from across the region, with many sharing the boy’s photo and description on social media in hopes of aiding the search.

For now, all eyes are on Jasper as authorities work tirelessly to bring Tyler home.
