Little Rock, Arkansas – Following a high-speed pursuit and a shooting that occurred in Little Rock on December 27, 2024, at approximately 4:30 a.m., the Arkansas State Police are currently conducting an investigation.
Prior to the incident, troopers saw a Dodge Ram 1500 that had recently escaped from Little Rock police officers.
According to a release, the suspect’s car was traveling east on Baseline Road at over 100 mph.
The vehicle crashed between Baseline Road and Arch Street Pike, bringing the pursuit to a sudden stop.
Troopers approached the car and told everyone to get out.
Once inside the vehicle cab, a shot was fired.
Troopers discovered the driver, a 28-year-old Heber Springs male, wounded from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
One of the passengers was identified as a Little Rock woman, 44. The collision caused her to sustain injuries.
Both patients were transferred to UAMS for medical care.
The passenger is still in the hospital, and the driver is reportedly in critical condition, according to ASP.
Investigators found illegal drugs, an AR-15 rifle, and a 9mm handgun during the course of the car search.
