Three suspects taken into custody after fatal shooting in Little Rock at 15th and Commerce intersection

Little Rock, Arkansas – Three individuals were arrested in connection with a deadly shooting in Little Rock that occurred on April 28. The shooting, which took place at the intersection of 15th and Commerce, led to the death of 45-year-old David James.

According to the Little Rock Police Department (LRPD), officers were initially called to the area to check on the condition of an individual. Upon arrival, they found James suffering from gunshot wounds. Tragically, he later succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The police quickly launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

As a result of their efforts, authorities arrested three suspects in connection with the crime. Valen Gilmer, 34, Megan Henderson, 39, and Lamar Chavis, 43, were taken into custody on Monday. All three are now facing a capital murder charge in connection to James’ death.

LRPD officials have confirmed that the suspects are currently being held at the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility. The police have not yet released further details about the circumstances leading to the shooting or the possible motive behind it.

This arrest comes as part of a continued effort by local law enforcement to address violent crime in Little Rock. Authorities have assured the community that they are committed to bringing justice to those impacted by violent acts, especially in incidents that result in the tragic loss of life.

While the investigation continues, the LRPD has asked anyone with additional information about the shooting to come forward. The case has garnered significant attention, as it marks yet another instance of violence in the city that has left the local community shaken.
