The community ushers in the holiday season with its beloved annual tree lighting ceremony

Jonesboro, Arkansas – With December approaching, NEA Baptist celebrated the holiday season with its annual tree lighting event on Sunday.

This marks the 11th tree lighting event hosted by the hospital.

This year, the hospital has selected Sleep in Heavenly Peace as the nonprofit to support, continuing its tradition of giving back. This organization is dedicated to providing families and children with beds and essential supplies, making a meaningful impact in the community.

Sam Lynd, CEO of NEA Baptist, expressed enthusiasm about highlighting a different nonprofit each year.

“A standout aspect of this event is our commitment to spotlight a nonprofit organization each year, alternating annually to address the diverse needs within our community,” he stated.
“Numerous outstanding organizations are worthy of recognition and support as they address the challenges our community faces, making this aspect of the event enjoyable for all.”

Lynd expressed that hosting a joyful and lively event for everyone at the hospital is truly wonderful.

“Many challenges await those who enter our building,” he stated. “Not every day is the highlight of their lives, so our goal is to welcome individuals into our institution, celebrate the holidays, and elevate their spirits.” This holds significant meaning for us.

The event featured delightful Christmas caroling, a heartwarming reading of the Nativity scene, and the comforting warmth of hot chocolate and cookies. To top it all off, Santa made a special appearance.
