Little Rock, Arkansas – The United States Air Force Band’s renowned jazz ensemble, The Airmen of Note, is bringing its signature swing and big band sound to Little Rock as part of a nine-day community tour spanning four states. Known for honoring the service of Airmen past and present, the ensemble’s performances also aim to highlight the dedication and work of military members across the globe.

The tour, which is being called a “community relations tour,” will take the ensemble through Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Louisiana, making stops at high schools, performing arts centers, and university venues. Each performance is free and open to the public, though tickets are required for entry. Locally, Little Rock Central High School will host the ensemble on Friday, April 24, at 7 p.m., giving residents an opportunity to experience a live, professional military jazz performance.

“We are thrilled to bring The Airmen of Note to communities across the region,” said a representative from the United States Air Force Band. “This tour is an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of our Airmen and connect with local audiences through music that has inspired generations.”

The ensemble’s stops in Arkansas and neighboring states are designed to reach a broad audience, ranging from students to longtime jazz enthusiasts. The tour begins on Thursday, April 23, at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, followed by the Little Rock Central High School performance the next evening. From there, the ensemble will head to Memphis Central High School on Saturday, April 25, continuing through Mississippi with performances in Senatobia, Tupelo, Madison, and Hattiesburg. The tour concludes in Biloxi, Mississippi, on Thursday, April 30, and at Tulane University’s Dixon Hall in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Friday, May 1.

Each performance showcases the versatility and skill of the ensemble, which has performed for audiences worldwide and frequently represents the Air Force at public events, military ceremonies, and national celebrations. Audiences can expect a mix of traditional big band jazz, swing, and contemporary arrangements, all performed by a highly trained group of musicians who double as active-duty Airmen.

Local school and community leaders expressed excitement about hosting the ensemble. “Having The Airmen of Note perform in Little Rock is a unique opportunity for our students and residents to experience world-class music while learning about the service and sacrifices of our military,” said a spokesperson from Little Rock Central High School.

Tickets for the performances are available online, and attendees are encouraged to secure them in advance due to expected high demand. While the concerts are free, the ticketing process ensures seating is organized and allows communities to plan for audience size and safety measures.

The Airmen of Note have a long-standing tradition of using music to engage with the public and foster connections between the military and civilian communities. By performing at schools, universities, and public venues, the ensemble provides a cultural and educational experience while also highlighting the Air Force’s commitment to excellence both on and off the field.
