Sunday morning fire damaged an apartment unit in downtown Little Rock

Little Rock, Arkansas – A downtown apartment building caught fire on Sunday morning, prompting Little Rock firefighters to respond.

Firefighters reported that no one was hurt.

Investigators believe that the fire started in a unit of an unoccupied apartment complex located in the 1300 block of South Louisiana Street, approximately one block west of South Main.

Although the cause of the fire is still being investigated, a fire department spokesperson affirms that even though the unit was boarded and unoccupied, it is likely that somebody had entered it.
When they noticed the fire, vendors preparing for the Bernice Garden market called the fire department.

According to investigators, smoke and water entered the attic and other areas of the building, although the damage was primarily contained to a single unit.
