Pine Bluff, Arkansas – The most recent crime in Pine Bluff has occurred at the city’s newest library.
Glass fragments from an overnight break-in were visible littering the ground on Sunday.
According to Kendrick Williams, owner of Pop’s Barbershop, this downtown burglary is detrimental to his company.
The phrase “break in downtown” doesn’t apply to us when we’re downtown. That’s not what we want to hear,” Williams stated.
However, there was more vandalism that evening. Police said that there was also a break-in at Taste Setters Eatery across the street.
Whether investigators think the two break-ins were committed by the same individual has not been made public.
According to the police, one suspect has been taken into custody for the library break-in.
This is a positive step, according to several locals.
“Get some good arrests going. People will know not to come this way once they hear about it,” Williams added. “Don’t mess with Pine Bluff, just as they don’t mess with Texas.” Avoid tampering with the Bluff.
Until further notice, the Pine Bluff Library is closed.
