Pine Bluff, Arkansas – The Pine Bluff Police Department has shared encouraging news with the community, announcing that crime in the city was noticeably lower this past June compared to the same time last year. According to the department’s latest data, there was a 10% decrease in reported crimes for the month when measured against June 2024.
Statistics from the department showed that there were 268 crimes reported throughout June 2025. That number is down from 297 crimes reported during the same month a year ago. The department’s year-to-date numbers also reflect a strong downward trend, with 1,407 total crimes reported so far this year. That figure represents a decrease of more than 58% compared to the same point last year.
One of the most significant reductions came in the area of violent crime. Only one homicide was reported in June this year, marking a 66% decrease from last year. The number of rapes reported was also cut in half, and commercial burglaries dropped by more than 63%. These improvements were highlighted by officials as positive signs for the city’s safety efforts.

“Department officials are pleased with the downward trend in crime statistics, but we all know there is more work that must be done,” said Pine Bluff Police Department Public Information Specialist John Worthen. “We want the community to know we are out there to make this city a better place. That’s the ultimate goal for everyone in this community.”
Despite the overall progress, not all crime categories followed the same pattern. The police department did note slight increases in two areas during June. Reports of aggravated assault climbed a little over 37%, while reports of residential burglaries rose more than 31%. Police officials say they are closely watching these numbers as they continue working to reduce crime throughout the city.
“As we continue to actively patrol the streets of Pine Bluff, we are asking all residents to report concerns to us,” Worthen said. “It’s like the old saying goes, ‘See something, say something.’ We are all partners in this effort to make Pine Bluff shine. We are planning many more things to come to help combat crime.”
The Pine Bluff Police Department is encouraging residents to remain engaged and proactive in their neighborhoods, emphasizing the importance of communication between the community and law enforcement. While the statistics show positive movement, police say continued teamwork will be necessary to maintain progress and address any new challenges that may arise.
