Pine Bluff police intensify search for driver responsible for deadly hit-and-run that killed local man

Pine Bluff, Arkansas – Authorities in Pine Bluff are actively searching for the driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run that claimed the life of a local man on February 14. Police confirmed the incident occurred at the intersection of 21st and Olive Streets, where emergency responders were called after reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 68-year-old man lying unresponsive in the street. The victim has been identified as Oscar Moore. Despite immediate efforts, Moore was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials said the driver responsible for the crash fled before law enforcement arrived, prompting investigators to treat the case as a homicide.

Police have released limited details, stating that “No further information is available to release at this time.” However, they are urging anyone with knowledge of the incident or the identity of the driver to come forward. The tragic event has shaken the local community, with neighbors expressing shock over the sudden loss. Officials are emphasizing the seriousness of hit-and-run incidents, noting that fleeing the scene of a fatal crash can result in severe criminal charges, including homicide.

Police continue to review available surveillance footage and gather witness statements from the area. “Investigators are asking anyone who may have seen the crash or the vehicle involved to contact the police immediately,” a spokesperson said. Authorities have not provided a description of the vehicle, but stressed that any information could prove crucial in locating the suspect.

As the investigation unfolds, law enforcement is appealing to the public for assistance in bringing justice to Moore and holding the responsible driver accountable. The community has been reminded to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity in the vicinity of 21st and Olive Streets.
