North Little Rock police investigate deadly Thanksgiving day shooting on Gum Street that left one man dead and the community shaken

North Little Rock, Arkansas – Police in North Little Rock are investigating a fatal shooting that took place on Thanksgiving afternoon, leaving the community shaken as officers work to uncover details.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:05 p.m. on Gum Street, according to the North Little Rock Police Department. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a man who had been shot. Authorities confirmed that the victim died at the scene, though his identity has not yet been released.

“This is a tragic event for our city, and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim,” a police spokesperson said. “We are actively investigating and asking anyone with information to come forward.”

Following the shooting, NLRPD launched a homicide investigation. Detectives are conducting interviews, processing evidence, and reviewing any potential leads that may help identify a suspect.
