North Little Rock police are actively searching for a suspect wanted in connection to a deadly shooting at a local gas station

North Little Rock, Arkansas – Authorities in North Little Rock are actively searching for a man wanted in connection with a deadly shooting that took place in a local gas station parking lot earlier this month. The North Little Rock Police Department (NLRPD) confirmed that the incident occurred on November 13 at the Shell gas station located at 4123 MacArthur Drive.

Police said they were called to the scene after receiving reports of a possible gunshot victim. Upon arrival, officers discovered 42-year-old Devoris Lockhart of North Little Rock suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Despite efforts to provide immediate aid, Lockhart was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators have since identified 29-year-old Shaqwon Collins as the primary suspect in the case. Collins faces multiple charges, including capital murder, criminal attempt to commit aggravated robbery, terroristic act, and possession of firearms by certain persons. Officials warned the public that Collins should be considered armed and dangerous.

According to police reports, Collins may be traveling in a silver 2002 Chevy Impala with Arkansas license plates 591ZJV. Law enforcement officials are urging anyone who sees the vehicle or has information about Collins’ whereabouts to contact authorities immediately. Detective Coburn with the NLRPD can be reached at (501) 771-7155 or (501) 906-6272, and tips can also be submitted to the NLRPD tip-line at (501) 680-8439.

The shooting has shocked the North Little Rock community, as residents grapple with the sudden loss of Lockhart and the ongoing search for the suspect. NLRPD officials said the investigation is ongoing, with detectives working to piece together the events leading up to the shooting.

Authorities emphasized the importance of community cooperation in locating Collins. They noted that even small pieces of information could help law enforcement track him down and prevent further violence. Residents are being urged not to approach Collins if spotted but to contact police immediately.

“This is a tragic event for our community, and our focus remains on bringing the suspect to justice while supporting those affected by this senseless act of violence,” a police spokesperson said.

The NLRPD continues to appeal to the public for assistance as they intensify efforts to apprehend Collins. Law enforcement officials also reminded citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity, particularly involving the described vehicle, to ensure the safety of the community.

As the investigation unfolds, police pledged to provide updates as new information becomes available. Meanwhile, community members continue to mourn the loss of Lockhart and hope for a swift resolution to the search for the suspect.
