Next week, the governor of Arkansas will attend the World Economic Forum in Switzerland

Little Rock, Arkansas – Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders is flying to the World Economic Forum in Switzerland next week, where she will be presenting on two panels, her office announced Friday.

Sanders’ office announced the Republican governor will attend the meeting in Davos from Jan. 22-24. She will be presenting on one panel about smartphones, social media, and the teenage mental health issues.

Jonathan Haidt, the author of “The Anxious Generation,” a book published last year that examines the effects of social media and smartphones on young people, will be on the panel.
According to Sanders’ office, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear will be on the other panel, which will concentrate on the part states play in presidential transitions.

After advocating for a state ban on student smartphone use in classrooms—a proposal being advanced by governors in a number of other states—Sanders is now attending the forum.
Sanders started a pilot program last year that gives money to schools that forbid cell phones.

According to her office, Sanders is also meeting with corporate executives to encourage them to make investments in Arkansas.

The governor’s travel expenses are being covered by the Arkansas Economic Development Commission and the nonprofit Arkansas Economic Development Foundation, according to her office. Judd Deere, the deputy chief of staff, is traveling with First Gentleman Bryan Sanders.
