Little Rock School District hosts events to help students explore high school and college options this October

Little Rock, Arkansas – The Little Rock School District is inviting students and families to a joint event designed to provide a clear view of educational opportunities from middle school through post-secondary education. The High School Recruitment Fair and the 51st Annual College Night will be held Tuesday, October 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Jack Stephens Center on the campus of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

The event aims to give middle school students a chance to learn about high school options available to them within the district, while high school students can explore post-secondary education opportunities, including colleges, universities, and career pathways. By bringing together resources for students at multiple stages of their academic journey, the district hopes to provide clarity and guidance as students plan their educational futures.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a financial aid workshop scheduled from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., offering practical advice and resources to help families navigate college funding, scholarships, and other financial considerations. The workshop is expected to provide valuable information for students and parents preparing for higher education costs and planning for long-term success.

“The goal of this event is to make sure every student and family has access to information about the options available to them, whether that’s high school programs or pathways to college and careers,” district officials said. “We want students to be empowered to make informed decisions about their educational futures.”

The event is free and open to all students, including those from schools outside of Little Rock. Local middle and high schools, colleges, and community organizations will participate, providing information and answering questions about programs, courses, extracurricular activities, and post-secondary opportunities.

By combining high school recruitment with college exploration in a single event, the district hopes to bridge the gap between current studies and future goals, helping students see the connection between their current education and the possibilities that lie ahead.

Families and students interested in attending are encouraged to arrive early to explore booths, speak with representatives, and participate in the financial aid session. The district emphasizes that the evening is designed to be informative, accessible, and engaging for students of all ages, supporting them in planning the next steps of their academic and professional journeys.
