Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office celebrates Deputy Devin Bohannon’s graduation from Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy

Camden, Arkansas -The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is celebrating a major milestone as one of its deputies, Devin Bohannon, has officially completed the Basic Law Enforcement Training Course at the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy (ALETA) in Camden.

The graduation ceremony, held on August 1, 2025, marked the end of a rigorous 13-week journey for Deputy Bohannon, who now moves one step closer to becoming a fully certified law enforcement officer in the state of Arkansas.

The training program, which spans an impressive 649 hours, is designed to provide new recruits with foundational skills in law enforcement. Recruits undergo a demanding curriculum that includes everything from Arkansas criminal law and patrol procedures to firearms training, ethics, report writing, and emergency vehicle operation. The experience tests both physical and mental endurance, and not everyone who starts the program makes it to the finish line.

Deputy Bohannon, assigned to the Uniformed Patrol Division, is now entering the next phase of his career — a 12-month probationary period with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. Upon completion of this period, he will be officially certified as a law enforcement officer by the state.

“We are proud of Deputy Bohannon and his hard work, resilience, and dedication displayed during this training period and look forward to seeing him move forward in his career as a law enforcement officer with the JCSO,” said the Sheriff’s Office in a public statement.

The successful completion of ALETA marks a significant achievement not only for Deputy Bohannon but for the community he serves. As law enforcement agencies across the country continue to adapt to modern challenges, well-trained officers like Bohannon are essential to ensuring public safety and building trust with residents.
