Little Rock, Arkansas – According to the Arkansas Department of Health’s weekly report on viral respiratory infections, the state is in the “very high” category for flu-like sickness.
Information on diseases like influenza, COVID-19, and RSV is included in the weekly report.
Arkansas has recorded 30 influenza-related deaths this season, including one pediatric death, according to the report dated February 6. Health officials also reported that unvaccinated individuals accounted for 80% of deaths.
Many people around the state, including some in our school systems, have been affected by the flu-related illnesses.
On Friday, Sylvan Hills High School officials shared on social media the untimely death of one of their students due to flu-related complications.
