Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders expresses condolences on the passing of Terri Womack and honors her lifelong support of her family and community

Little Rock, Arkansas – Arkansas is mourning the loss of Terri Womack, the wife of Congressman Steve Womack, who passed away this week. Her death has left a profound impact on family, friends, and the wider community across Northwest Arkansas, where she and her husband were long-standing pillars.

In a statement released shortly after the news, Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders reflected on the lasting influence Terri had on her family and community. “Bryan and I are mourning the loss of Terri Womack, Congressman Womack’s wife of more than 40 years. She and Steve were true partners and institutions in their hometown of Rogers and across Northwest Arkansas and her loss will be felt throughout our state. Steve’s public service in the National Guard, as mayor of Rogers, and as a congressman would not have been possible without the incredible, steadfast support that Terri provided. My prayers are with Steve, the Womack’s three sons and grandchildren, and all who knew and loved Terri.”

Terri Womack was widely recognized not only as a devoted spouse and mother but also as a steady presence behind some of the region’s most influential public service efforts. Her support of Steve Womack’s career, from his time in the National Guard to his tenure as mayor and eventually as a U.S. congressman, was described by many as unwavering. Those who knew her often spoke of her warmth, generosity, and the quiet yet profound influence she had on the lives around her.

As the Womack family faces this difficult time, Governor Sanders and others in the state leadership have called on Arkansans to honor Terri’s memory by reflecting on the difference she made in the lives of so many. The loss is deeply felt, not only by her immediate family but by the wider community who witnessed her commitment and care over decades.
