During a car check on Christmas Eve, Arkansas State Police officers confiscate almost 200 pounds of illegal marijuana

Little Rock, Arkansas – During a traffic check in Lonoke County on Christmas Eve, troopers from the Arkansas State Police confiscated almost 200 pounds of illegal marijuana.

Around 6:50 p.m., according to ASP officials, troopers pulled over a car on Interstate 40. Six suitcases containing 207 vacuum-sealed marijuana bundles weighing 248 pounds were discovered by state authorities.

The driver was identified as Xiong Ren, a 53-year-old Oklahoman.

He informed investigators he was going to Wisconsin for Christmas, according to special agents.

Ren is accused of using someone else’s property without permission in order to commit a crime and of possessing something with the purpose of delivering.

He is being kept at the Lonoke County Detention Center.
