Drivers in Pulaski County warned of upcoming lane closures on Broadway Bridge for essential routine inspection work

Pulaski County, Arkansas – The Broadway Bridge, a vital crossing over the Arkansas River in Little Rock, is set to undergo routine inspection next week, leading to temporary lane closures in Pulaski County. Drivers should be prepared for disruptions as the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) carries out essential maintenance to ensure the safety and longevity of the bridge.

The inspection will begin with the closure of the southbound outside lanes, which will be blocked off from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on both Wednesday, March 19, and Thursday, March 20. In addition to these closures, further restrictions will affect both the northbound and southbound inside lanes. These closures are scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, and Wednesday, March 26.

According to ARDOT, the inspection is part of their routine bridge maintenance program, designed to ensure that bridges remain safe and functional for all users. Weather conditions will determine whether the work proceeds as planned, so drivers are encouraged to stay informed about any changes that could arise.

“Digital message boards, cones, and signage will be placed along the roadways to alert motorists of the upcoming lane closures,” an ARDOT spokesperson said. These signs will help guide drivers and ensure they have ample warning before navigating the affected areas.

For those who want more details on the lane closures or need alternate routes, ARDOT advises checking the IDriveArkansas.com website or visiting ARDOT.gov for up-to-date travel information.

Motorists planning to use the Broadway Bridge during these dates should expect delays and consider finding alternate routes to avoid the affected lanes. The closures are necessary to maintain the bridge’s structural integrity, and the department appreciates the public’s patience during this time of important infrastructure upkeep.
