Conway, Arkansas – The University of Central Arkansas men’s basketball team is riding a surge that shows no signs of slowing down. On Saturday night in Conway, the Bears delivered another strong performance, defeating West Georgia 79–62 and locking up a valuable first-round bye in the ASUN Tournament.
It was a game that followed a familiar script for Central Arkansas during this remarkable stretch. The Bears controlled the tempo early, pushed the pace when it mattered, and leaned on balanced scoring to keep their opponent at arm’s length. By the final buzzer, the result felt decisive rather than dramatic — a sign of a team playing with confidence and rhythm.
Leading the charge was Ty Robinson, who turned in a standout all-around effort with 23 points and 10 rebounds. His presence on both ends of the court helped steady the Bears during key moments. Luke Moore provided another offensive spark, pouring in 21 points, while Javion Guy-King chipped in nine points and added a pair of timely steals that disrupted West Georgia’s momentum.
The victory marked the Bears’ 10th consecutive win, extending what has become one of the most impressive runs in program history. In fact, Central Arkansas has suffered only two losses in 2026 — both coming on the road and both decided in overtime — underscoring just how consistently competitive the team has been.
With the latest win, the Bears improved to 17-10 overall and 12-2 in conference play. That conference mark now stands as a new school record, highlighting a season that continues to rewrite expectations.
Looking ahead, Central Arkansas faces a demanding stretch away from home, with three consecutive road games before returning to Conway for the regular-season finale on Feb. 28. That game will carry extra meaning as the Bears host Queens and celebrate Senior Day, closing the regular season in front of their home crowd.
For now, though, the focus remains clear. With momentum building and a tournament bye secured, the Bears are positioning themselves as a formidable contender heading into the postseason.
