Saline County, Arkansas – The Arkansas Department of Transportation reports that two construction projects in Saline County are approaching their final stages.
According to Dave Parker from ARDOT, the work on Interstate 30 is approaching completion, although it remains several years behind the initially anticipated date of May 2022.
Parker stated, “Work commenced in 2019.” “There were several factors that contributed to the delay.” The updated completion date is set for early 2025.
A new initiative located directly off the interstate is Highway 5. Officials from ARDOT announced that the completion of the project is anticipated in early January.
This development is expected to benefit operations at Harps in Benton.
Deli Manager Tabitha Nooner reported a noticeable decline in customer numbers due to the ongoing construction in the vicinity.
“That had a significant impact on our company across the board,” Nooner stated.
Since 2012, she has been employed at this Harps location and has witnessed the effects of the construction on her colleagues.
Nooner stated, “We had to reduce hours.” “It can be particularly challenging for them, especially during the holiday season, as they work to organize everything for their children.”
As the finish line approaches, Nooner expressed optimism about what lies ahead.
“I am truly looking forward to the ways we will return to normal.” Nooner discussed potential strategies for attracting more customers at this time.
