Authorities in Little Rock confirm identity of man killed in Sunday evening shooting

Little Rock, Arkansas – Little Rock Police have identified the victim in a fatal shooting that occurred Sunday night in the city. According to a statement from the Little Rock Police Department (LRPD), officers responded to the scene in the 9000 block of Auxor Road, where they found 39-year-old Lee Battles of Benton lying in a lot across the street. Battles was immediately transported to a local hospital, but despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced dead. The LRPD confirmed that the Pulaski County Coroner took Battles’ body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy, while also working to notify his next of kin.

Detectives quickly began canvassing the area to gather evidence and speak to potential witnesses. Video surveillance footage is also being reviewed as part of the ongoing investigation. LRPD officials have not yet released details about any suspects or a possible motive for the shooting.
